Albert Mason
Cooper
September 14, 1943 – January 31, 2026
Albert Mason "Bud" Cooper, 82, of Point Pleasant, passed away peacefully at home, to the hands of the Lord, on January 31, 2026.
Albert was born on September 14, 1943, in Point Pleasant, a son of the late Albert Mason and Mary Velma (Fauver) Cooper. He was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School, class of 1961. Albert ("Mr. Haney") retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber (Shell / M&G), after 28 years of service. Mowing yards and setting up at the flea market wasn't enough to keep boredom away, so he gave Walmart 15 years of service, before finally retiring at age 76. Albert was a member of Jackson Avenue Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years. Albert's hobby was collecting and trading old tools, knives, guns, fishing poles and reels, watches and whatever caught his eye. Setting up out of his van at the Gallia County Flea Market was one of his biggest joys.
Albert was preceded in death by parents; and his sister, Mary M. Cooper Goble. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Georgina E. (Watson) Cooper; daughters, Diana (Keith) Taylor, Kimberly (Donald) Wyant, and Janelle McClure; grandchildren, Nicholas (Katrina) Farley, Andrew Taylor, Kristin (Jason) Schultz, Shalynn (Justin Searls) Likens, Mason (Morgan) Likens, Tasha (Seth) Gaskins, Melissa Wyant, Chloe Whitson, Aubrey Whitson; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Cora, Emily, Madison, Lucas, Nathan, Darla, Bunkie, Jaylen, Kayden, Cason, Breanna; great-great-grandchildren, Paisley, Kinsley, Camber; sister, Joan L. Cooper Robbins; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Pastor Joe Nott officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., on Thursday. Burial will take place in Forest Hills Cemetery, at a later time, as weather permits.
