Arthur Worley Gheen age 82 of Point Pleasant, WV passed away Friday January 13th 2017 at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant WV.

Art was born October 22, 1934 in Wheeling, WV to the late Worley Clayton and Helen (Groux) Gheen.

Besides his parents Art is preceded in death by his wife Etta Lou Gheen, daughter; Rebecca Gheen, son; Douglas Gheen and his brother; Harold Gheen.

Art graduated high school in Wheeling and went on to college on a sports scholarship and after two years and an injury the scholarship was dropped so Art determined to obtain that BA degree enlisted in the U.S. Army so he could use the GI Bill to complete his education and after service is time and being Honorably Discharged that's what he did, graduating from Bethany College.

Once he graduated Art found himself in Point Pleasant, WV. it was here that he put down roots raised a family and serviced the community as Owner/operator of Mason County Insurance Agency Inc. Art purchased this business and ran it right up until he retired.

Besides work and family time Art found the time to get his pilot license, he loved to fly and at one point he even had his own plane. Art was an avid football fan and enjoyed rooting for both WVU, Marshall and he was a Steelers fan, he also enjoyed a good book every now and then.

Surviving he leaves his daughter; Linda Gheen a grandson; Jeremy (Nikki) Harrison granddaughter; Leeza Bartles, three great-grandchildren, one brother Orville Gheen and nephew Scott Gheen of Wheeling, WV.

Arrangements are under the care of Crow-Hussell Funeral Home and will be Wednesday January 18, 2017. Visitation will be from 11-12 with the funeral beginning at noon with Pastor Bob Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens.
