Barbara Ellen (Richmond) Altheide, 76, of Medina, OH and formerly of Mason, WV, died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at Medina General Hospital. She was retired from General Motors Corporation and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Born January 30, 1933, in Ramp, WV, she was a daughter to the late John and Ora (Fleeman) Richmond. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Leon Richmond.

She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia McDaniel, of Medina, OH, Brenda Henscroth, of Lorain, OH and Teresa Newsum, of Hurley, MS; six grandchildren, Adam, Melissa, Joshua, Amy, Aiden and a grandchild forthcoming; four great-grandchildren, Mekala, Rayanna, R.J. and Orion; and three sisters, Nina Syx, of Wellston, OH, Mickie Rose, of Mason and Thelma Mattox, of Point Pleasant.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 11, 2009, at Kirkland Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Bob Patterson officiating. There will be no visitation.
