Bernice Underwood, age 90, of Grove City, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, January 20, 2009, at the Monterey Care Center, in Grove City. She was retired from the Columbus Medical Bureau, as an executive secretary.

Bernice was born on June 16, 1918 to the late Theodore and Mary Susan (McKinney) Plants. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Underwood; two sons, Lewis and David Underwood; and her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Rhea Ann Buchanan, of Sullivan, IL; and two Granddaughters, Susan Hinton, of Grove City and Melissa Hershey, of Fredrickstown, OH; and her great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be observed at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2009, at Eddy Chapel Cemetery, with Pastors Carl Swisher and Robert Patterson, II officiating. There will be no visitation.

Bernice's care has been entrusted to Crow-Hussell Funeral Home.
