Betty Sue Hoffman's Obituary
Betty Sue (Fetty) Young Hoffman, age 79, of Letart, WV, passed this life on Monday, January 5, 2015, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 22, 1935, in Point Pleasant, a daughter to the late Ernest and Edna (Crump) Fetty. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James Fletcher Young; grandson, Robert Joe Keathley, Jr.; brother, Ernest Fetty; and sisters, Zelda Simpkins, Nancy Keyser and Sally Young.
She is survived by her husband, Bernard Gary Hoffman; five children, Patsy and Robert Keathley, of Letart, James and Cheryl Young, of Bowling Green, OH, JoAnne and David Siders, of Point Pleasant, Lester "Pete" and Sherri Young, of Jacobsburg, OH and Mark and Joni Young, of Letart; stepchildren, Gary "Maurice" and Linda Hoffman, of Point Pleasant and Leah and Danny Shamblin, of Letart. She was a loving grandmother "Nan" to 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild. She is also survived by a sister, Susie Derenberger; brothers, Hank, Andrew, Jim and Henry Fetty; and her best friend, Jane Bowles.
Betty Sue was a member of Vernon United Methodist Church, in Letart. Celebrating Christmas and being with her family and friends were her greatest joys. She enjoyed going to the Amish Country with her friends, Curt and Judy Hunt and Dwight and Rose Baker; going to auctions and playing rummy. She loved her little dog, Buster, who kept her company.
Friends and family may call at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home to celebrate her life. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with the funeral service to be held on Friday, January 9, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, in Letart. Officiating will be Pastors John Bumgarner and Carl "Boxer" Swisher.
