Obituary

Billy Joe Mead, 81, of Point Pleasant, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday morning, January 14, 2012, at the Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Bill was retired from Armco Steel, in Huntington and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was also a member of the First Church of God. All that knew him, knew of his deep passion for his Savior, Jesus Christ. Bill was born October 6, 1930, in Huntington, a son to the late Isaac and Emma (Long) Mead. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister and several brothers.

Bill is survived by his wife, Yvonne (Webb) Mead; daughter and son-in-law, Tamara and Jack Woolum, of Letart; son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Laura Mead, of St. Mary's, Georgia; three grandchildren, Amber Woolum, Molly Mead and Samuel Mead; and his brother, Tim Mead, of Fraziers Bottom.

Bill's life will be remembered at 1:00 p.m.,Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Pastors Carl Swisher and Bob Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Church of God Building Fund, 2401 Jefferson Ave., Point Pleasant, WV, 25550.
