Billy Bruce Stevens, 89, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Bill was born July 13, 1936, to the late Forman W. and Mae (Meaige) Stevens. He proudly served in the United States Air Force following his high school graduation. He retired from the Union Carbide -Dow Chemical (Institute) Plant after 35 years. Following retirement, Bill spent his days gardening, sharing his love of the Lord, and spending time with his family and friends who he loved so dear. Preceding him in death were his parents and his infant brother, Forman Wendell.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Phyllis (Cheesebrew) Stevens; his son, Mark; his four daughters and their husbands, Tonda (Rick) Nowlin, Ronda (Matthew) Miller, Jill (Tim) Moses, and Kristi (Tony) Stover; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Alicia Stevens, Mallory (Brian) Ray, Marla (Kyle) King, Riken Nowlin, Colton (Hayley) Stover, Mariah Nowlin, Morgan (Braxton) Carpenter, and Billy Dean Stover (Brinna Roush); six great-grandchildren and one expected in July, Kane, Hawk, Holt, Greyson, Matix, and Rory; his loving brother, Bennie (Correna) Stevens; special cousin, Joy Sturgeon; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, family and friends, and his Millstone Church Family.

There will be a funeral service honoring Bill's life at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with pastor and son-in-law, Tony Stover officiating. Burial will follow in Beale Chapel Cemetery, in Apple Grove, where military honors will be rendered by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Stewart-Johnson Post #9926, Mason, WV.
