Obituary – Billy Ray (BR) Williams – 89 of Point Pleasant WV, formerly of Huntington WV, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 30, at PVH. BR was born August 17, 1924, in Cabell County WV, the son of the late Averille (Ebb) and Ivy Jane (Sally) Williams and former spouse Helen Colleen Williams. BR retired from Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood WV, where he held the position of Machinist Supervisor. He honorably served his country as an Army paratrooper liberating concentration camps in Nazi Germany during WWII. He was decorated with multiple service ribbons and medals including a Purple Heart. BR is survived by his loving and committed wife Judy Kay Cheesebrew Williams, 2 sons Gary Wayne and Janna Williams of Mayfield, Kentucky and David Anthony Rankin of Point Pleasant WV; 2 daughters Sandra Jean Williams Roll of Charleston WV and Leigh Ann Rankin Johnson of Columbus OH; 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 loyal poodle named Gandolph. A "Celebration of Life" service will be held privately at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home for family. In lui of flowers, family requests all donations be made to Pleasant Valley Hospital Hospice. The family would like to personally thank Pleasant Valley Hospital for the excellent care that was given over the years and to the ICU staff.
