Obituary

On February 18, 2008, Brenda Mae Hamm, 54, a loving mother, nana, daughter, sister and friend was taken to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ due to an automobile accident.

She was born on June 20, 1953, to LeRoy and Louise Durst. She was a member of the First Church of God in Point Pleasant, where she was church secretary and Sunday School Teacher. She worked for 33 years as a storeroom clerk for AEP at Mountaineer Power Plant and was an avid Longaberger basket collector and sales consultant. She is preceded in death by her father, LeRoy Durst; her maternal grandmother, Iva Mae Hudson and paternal grandparents, Ernest and Beatrice Durst.

She is survived by her family whom she loved and cared for very much; her mother, Louise Durst of Point Pleasant; two daughters and sons-in laws, Jessica and Mike Hitt of Point Pleasant and Bethany and Paul Cochran of Bidwell, Ohio; two grandchildren, Jarred and Emilee Hitt; one sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Jim Lewis, two nieces, Courtney and Scott Cummons and Tiffany Lewis and a great niece, Sadie Cummons all of Gallipolis, Ohio and several very close special friends.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 22, 2008, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, with Pastor Carl Swisher, officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens, near Point Pleasant. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 until 8 p.m., Thursday, February 21, 2008.

In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to Charlie's Angels Relay for Life Team or First Church of God Building Fund. Brenda's care has been entrusted to Crow-Hussell Funeral Home. An online guest registry is available at www.crowhussellfh.com.
