Brenda Kay Rainey, age 66 of Gallipolis Ferry, WV passed away after a long illness Sunday, April 15, 2018 with her family at her side.

She was born May 10, 1951 in Point Pleasant, WV to the late Charles William and Phylis Jean (Dunlap) Leach.

Brenda was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Point Pleasant. She attended Point Pleasant High School where she met the love of her life, Larry Rainey. The two married and settled down in Gallipolis Ferry to raise their family together. Brenda was not only a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker she also worked as a Nursing assistant for Pleasant Valley Hospital as well as Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehab Center in Point Pleasant.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; Larry Eugene Rainey, a grandson, Corey Michael Rainey and a brother; Sheldon "Shelby" Leach.

Brenda is survived by three daughters, Sarah Ann (Jesse) Stanley of Point Pleasant, Patty Kay (Tim) Wolfe of North Carolina and Margie Jean (Glen) Stover of Georgia; six grandchildren, Jessica Stanley, Breanna Stanley, Stefan (Kaitlin) Wolfe, Derek (Lillie) Wolfe, Lindsay Wolfe and Kymberley Stover; and one great-grandson, Raylan Stover.  She is also survived by  brothers; Worthy Leach of Point Pleasant, WV Frankie Leach, of Ripley, WV, sisters; Pamela Rayburn of Point Pleasant, WV, Kathy Shelby of Point Pleasant, WV, Mary Harper of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Sandra Sayre of Point Pleasant, WV, and Stephanie Neal of Point Pleasant, WV. along with several nieces and nephews.

There will be a Memorial Service Sunday, April 22, 2018 beginning at 1:00 PM at the Gospel Lighthouse Church with Pastor Mark Polley officiating.  Burial will be private at Jordan Baptist Cemetery in Gallipolis Ferry.
