Shane Smith age 45 of Point Pleasant, WV passed away Saturday February 13, 2021 at Camden-Clark Hospital in Parkersburg, WV.

Shane was born Briciel Shane Smith October 30, 1975 in Point Pleasant, WV to the late Rickie Darius and Gayla Ann (Casey) Smith, the middle of three siblings Shane seemed to find a way to always get the attention from mom or dad.

Shane graduated from Point Pleasant High and served his country by enlisting in the West Virginia National Guard. He stayed active in sports both playing and later coaching and donating his time at the ballfields and basketball courts, you could always count on seeing him strolling into a Big Blacks contest with his dad and brother by his side, Basketball, Football or Baseball they were always there cheering on the guys.

A little later in life Shane had another love added to his list as he was a dedicated father, coach and over-all number 2 fan of his son Ian, (I say number 2 because mama Gayla was the #1 fan hands down). Shane was very proud of Ian and supported him in everything that he did and also work hard to be sure that Ian was doing the best that he could in whatever he was into.

Besides his parents Shane is preceded in death by his best friend and brother Chris Smith.

Surviving he leaves behind his loving son, Ian Bradley Smith, caring and devoted sister, Amy (David) Smith-Nelson his fur buddy Ozzy and a host of family and friends that will all miss his infectious smile and encouraging conversations.

Shane also leaves behind the gift of life as he was an Organ donor, a choice that in his passing created hope and life for numerous families that without Hero's like Shane face hopeless situations. Thank you Shane and the Smith Family for your selfless acts for greater good and touching the lives of so many.

You will be missed.

A celebration of Life service will be held to Honor Shane on Tuesday February 23, 2021 at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home from 5-6:30 a memorial service officiated by Pastor Doug Mitchell will begin at 6:30.
