Obituary

Burnis H. "Bernie" Poff, 71, of Letart, West Virginia, died Saturday, July 26, 2008, at his home. He was retired from Shell/Goodyear Polyester Plant as maintenance Supervisor; he was a member of Minturn Lodge #19, A.F. and A.M., of the Knights Templar #017, Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons #7 and the Beni Kedem Shriners A.A.O.N.M.S.; he was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of the American Legion of the Mason County Post #23.

He was born, February 1, 1937, in Wytheville, Virginia. He was the son of the late Ernest Harold and Clara Elizabeth (Copenhaver) Poff.

He is survived by his wife, Ann (Earhart) Poff; a daughter and son-in-law, Shawn and Michael Sergent of Point Pleasant; a son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Kelley Poff of Proctorville, Ohio; step-children, Ann Leigh and Dave Walsh of Midlothian, Virginia, Tyler and Wendy Cole of Mason, Ohio and Sallie and Bill King of West Suffield, Connecticut; a brother, Donald Poff of Arnold, Missouri and grandchildren, Austi and Brett Sergent, Braley Poff, Morgan, Rich and Brandon Cole, Spencer, Tyler and Cameron King and David and Riley Walsh.

A Celebration of Bernie's Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 1, 2008, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, with Robert L. Patterson, II., officiating. Burial will be private. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
