Charles William "Bill" Rhodes, Jr., 67, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away on July 16, 2012. He was born on July 20, 1944, in Point Pleasant, a son of the late Charles William and Dorothy Rhodes. Besides being preceded in death by his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Marcella Coleman and Pauletta Rhodes; also, in-laws, William and Mary Miller and Stephen Miller.

Bill retired from Ohio Valley Electric Corporation – Kyger Creek Plant, as a maintenance foreman, after serving 39 years where he was known as "Gov" to his fellow employees and friends. Bill was also a member of the 3664th Maintenance Division of the WV National Guard. He was a 1962 graduate of Point Pleasant High School. Bill was formerly president of the Big Black Backers and Mason County Little League and was also a member of the Point Pleasant Planning Committee.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carolyn Miller Rhodes; his sons, Michael David (Karen) Rhodes, of Sanford, NC and MSgt Andrew Charles Rhodes, USMC, stationed in Washington, D.C.; two grandchildren, Lauren and William, of Sanford, NC, whom he adored.

Bill is also survived by a brother, Robert (Debi), of Chester, VA.; sisters, Mary Keeler and Peg (William) Gardner, all of Point Pleasant, brother-in-law, William Jackson (Sherry) Miller, of Point Pleasant; sisters-in-law, Phyllis (George) Hesson and Barb (Gene) Dunlap, all of Point Pleasant, Pat (Tom) Mitsoyianis, of Beckley. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and friends who will have a void in their lives because of his death.

He enjoyed traveling, playing cards with his buddies and meeting his friends at Tudor's for his morning coffee. Bill enjoyed driving Carolyn around in their yellow Mercedes Convertible.

Bill attended the First Church of God, in Point Pleasant, and the service will be conducted by Pastor Robert Patterson, at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, on Friday, July 20, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens, with Military Honors being presented by the West Virginia Honor Guard. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening, July 19, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be: Jeff Ury, Brad Minton, Craig Hesson, Tyler McGraw, Shad Roberts and Chris Barnett. Honorary pallbearers will be his dear friend, Wayne Burdettte and his friends from Tudor's. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Bill's memory to the American Heart Association.
