Charles "Gene" Herdman, age 77, of Pickerington, died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 28, 2018 near Leon, WV. Born July 13, 1941 in Buffalo, WV to the late Charles Golden and Edith Marie (Martin) Herdman. He was a retired building superintendent with Chemical Abstracts Service where he worked 35 years, and he was a member of Baltimore United Methodist Church. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruth (Holland) Herdman; daughters, Sherri Syfers, Reynoldsburg, and Jeanne (Keith) Farrell, Pickerington; grandchildren, Emily and Brad Syfers, Dustin Samuel, Dakota (Kim), and Jacob Spurlock, Tyler, Victoria, and Alexis Farrell; great-grandchildren, Adelynn and Nora Williams, Lanni and Isaac Spurlock, Timmy, Tristan, and Maverick; sisters, Marjorie Brown, Doris (Fred) Williams; sisters-in-law, Geraldine "Adron" (Richard) Duncan, Alice Rife; brother-in-law, Darrell (Patsy) Holland; other special nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by sister, Phyllis Wilbanks; and brother-in-law, Charles Edwin Holland.
