Charles Arthur Powell of Point Pleasant, WV, was born in Princeton, WV in 1947, to George Thomas and Bertha (Barberie) Powell. He grew up near Narrows, VA. He died March 14, 2013, as the result of a heart attack. Charlie was a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute, where he received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. He spent his entire career working for American Electric Power. Charlie was the general manager at the Mountaineer Power Plant in New Haven,WV, at the time of his death.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Marsha, and daughter, April. He had six siblings: William, Carroll, Julia, Benjamin (deceased), Anna and George.

A Memorial Service will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 600 Second Avenue, Gallipolis, Ohio, on Sunday, March 17 at 2:00 pm. Those who wish to share a thought or memory of Charlie will be asked to do so at the end of the service. The family request no flowers or food be sent, but they hope that all who wish to honor Charlie and celebrate his life will attend and participate.
