Pastor Charles "Pork" Morgan Roush, 72, of Point Pleasant, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Monday, June 27, 2011, at the Veterans Medical Center, Huntington.
Charles was a former pastor at Broad Run Methodist, in New Haven; Oma Chapel, in Buffalo; Mount Union Church, in Pliny and current Pastor of Salem Community Church, in West Columbia. He was also a former and longtime member of Bellemead United Methodist Church, in Point Pleasant. He loved singing and writing songs and poems of his family and things dear to his heart. He loved gardening and spending time with his family, was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had formerly worked at Panasote.
He was born June 19, 1939, a son to the late Benjamin O. and Helen E. (Neville) Roush, of Mason, WV. Also preceding him in death were brothers, Leonard Roush, of West Columbia and David Roush, of Rockford, Ill.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Donna S. Roush; a son, Charles E. Roush (Sue) of Point Pleasant; a daughter, Cheryl L. Cook (John) of North Carolina; a son, Jeffrey L. Roush (Tracy) of Point Pleasant; grandchildren, Justin D. Roush, USMC, Amanda Morgan and Johnnie Roush of Point Pleasant, Billy Cook of North Carolina, and Debra Cook of North Carolina; Donna Stanton, Alisha Jones and Courtney Dean. He had 11 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews; a sister, Shirley Priddy, of North Carolina; brothers, Ben (Ruth) Roush, of Letart and Ronnie Roush, of Point Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2011, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, with Reverends Jim Lawson and Tim Scarberry, officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., before the service on Thursday.
Following the burial service in Lone Oak Cemetery, Bellemead UM Church will host a dinner for family and friends. The family would like to say thank you to the VA Medical Center ICU Nursing Staff and a special thank you to Dr. King and Holly Donahue for their loving care.
