Charles Robert Swisher, Jr., 77, of Point Pleasant, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, August 14, 2011, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was a member of the Point Pleasant First Church of God; retired from the Ohio River Company where his nickname was "Coon" and he was a U.S. Army Veteran.

Charles was born, July 22, 1934, in Mason County, WV, to the late Charles Robert Swisher, Sr., and Bonnie (Randolph) Swisher. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Rose Delta Swisher and a great-granddaughter, Maryn Weaver.

Charles is survived by his wife, Joan (Malezewski) Swisher; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Eldon Roush of Letart, WV; three sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Tammy Riffle of Point Pleasant, Mark and Ellen Riffle of Gallipolis and Alan and Carolyn Riffle of Middleport; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene Marshall and Carol Swisher of Gallipolis, Tim and Marjorie Swisher and Terry Swisher all of Point Pleasant; grandchildren, Courtney, Cody, T.J., Derek, Cody, Cari, Marley and A.J.; one great-granddaughter, Loryn Weaver; two special nephews, Timmy Swisher and Marshall Swisher and a special friend, Miranda Parsons.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 18, 2011, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Pastors Carl Swisher and Bob Patterson, officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening, August 18, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
