Christine Fruth, age 97, of Pomeroy, OH and formerly of Point Pleasant, died Monday evening, August 25, 2008, at the Darst Care Home, in Pomeroy. Christine was a registered nurse having worked at Holzer Medical Center and Lakin. She was also a World War II veteran, serving in Italy and France. She was also a member of the Meigs County Genealogical Society.

Born November 9, 1910, in Mason, WV, she was a daughter of the late Christopher and Hester Elizabeth (Manley) Fruth. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Vera Kreimer; three brothers, Ralph, Bob and Buck Fruth; and special friend, Faye Manley.

Christine is survived by six nieces, Crystal Kautz, of Lee's Summit, MO and her children, Jenna and Jacob Kautz and Tyler Whitlatch; Carol (Tom) Latta, of Corder, MO and her children, Christopher Lyons and Leslie Feldkamp; Karen Roush, of Bidwell, OH, Linda Johnson, of Gallipolis, OH, Teresa Musgrave, of Florida and Marsha and Dick Smith of Point Pleasant; and two nephews, Robbie Fruth and Russell Perry, both of Point Pleasant, WV.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 29, 2008, at Kirkland Memorial Gardens, near Point Pleasant, with Robert L. Patterson, II officiating. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation.
