Clarence Charles Mattox 95, formerly of Leon, WV passed away Thursday December 12, 2013 at his home in Columbus, Oh.
Charles was born June 2, 1918 to the late Charlie and Cora Jane (Elliot) Mattox in Leon, WV
He served his country in the CCC's for about a year until he was found to be blind in one eye and given a discharge. Charles loved to farm, fish and hunt. He was a retired track maintenance worker of the New York Central Railroad.
Later in life he found joy in his time spent arguing with Garvin and fishing or playing with his best buddy "JayBug".
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Flossie (Jordan) Mattox as well as five brothers and five sisters.
Charles is survived by: Step-son Herman Jordan, granddaughter Michelle Thomas, Nieces and nephews; Garvin (Mary) Rollins Cheree', Linda, Lea, Logan, and Jason "JayBug" Rollins, Jeanie and Gary, Richard Mattox, Junior Mattox, Carolyn Stephens, Christina, Jannette, Maria, and Lewis. Along with several more nieces nephews friends and family.
Visitation for Charles will be Tuesday December 17, 2013 at 1PM, with a funeral service beginning at 2PM at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under the care of Crow-Hussell Funeral Home.
