Darrell C. Stone, Sr., 93, of Leon, WV, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at the VA Medical Center, in Huntington. He was a logger, construction worker and farmer. He was born on June 25, 1919, in Akron, OH, a son to the late Oren and Lula (Keefer) Stone. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wives, Ruth Stone and Gladys Stone; his son, Thomas Stone; and two daughters, Mae and Mary Jean Stone; and also his brothers and sisters.

Darrell is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Dennis Scarberry, of Leon; son and daughter-in-law, Chester and Sue Stone, of Mason; special step-son, Allen and Dorothy Willis, of Independence, WV; other step-children; grandchildren, C.J. Stone, Tracy Collins, Theresa Keefer, Allen Scarberry, Mary Stone and William Stone; great-grandchildren, Anna Mae and Collett Lee Keefer; and his daughter-in-law, Debbie Stone, of Scottsburg, IN.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Smith Cemetery, in Leon, with Pastor Bob Patterson officiating. Burial will follow. At his request, there will be no visitation.
