David Joe Beckner, Jr., 56, of Point Pleasant, passed away on Friday morning, December 31, 2010, at the Arbors of Gallipolis. Joe was a self-employed bricklayer and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was born on September 30, 1954, in Point Pleasant, a son to the late David Joe Beckner, Sr. and Opal (Hughes) Beckner, of Point Pleasant.

In addition to his mother, Joe is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Freda Beckner, of Point Pleasant; his sister and brother-in-law, Kinzel and Doug Banks, of Leon; his aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Creston Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be performed by the American Legion, Mason County Post # 23. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
