Don Edward White Sr., 73, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV went to be with our Lord and Savior on November 2, 2024. He was born on November 18, 1950, in Boone County, West Virginia. He passed away at home surrounded by his family and loved ones. Don was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years Phyllis Ann White, his mother Nancy Elizabeth White, father Jody Lee White, sisters Judith Selvig, Vanna Kirk, Kathryn Petry, and brother Demmie Joe White. He is survived by three children Don (Kelly) White Jr., Jo (Joey) Davis, and Tammy (Jeff) Hudson. Grandkids Don (Chevawn) White III, Judi (Joe Davis) Thompson, Ryen (Tessa) Tomblin, Adam Williams, Jacob Williams, Alex (Mallory) Murray, and LeAnn (Markus) Ruddle, six great grandkids and two more on the way. His brothers Ronnie (Lynn) White, Bobby Gene (Betty) White and sister Martha Selvig, a special thought of daughter Sheila Flora, and several nieces and nephews.

Don was a roofer by trade and a family man by heart. He is finally reunited with the love of his life Phyllis who passed away six months earlier. Don enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with friends and family. He loved his chickens, and his favorite dog was his Springer Spaniel named Cruise. Don would read his Bible for hours, often making notes in the index about his thoughts, feelings, and wishes. It was Don's wish for his family to hold on to one another and prepare for the day they will all be reunited again. He was always there to give advice, guidance, love, and understanding. His greatest joys were his kids and grandkids, who all will miss him deeply.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate his life on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Millstone Church in Gallipolis Ferry, WV at 2:00pm with a reception to follow. The service will be officiated by Bert Flora and Charles Dabney, with special speakers Jeff Hudson and David Fairburn. The kids would like to say a special thank you to Martha Selvig and Ronnie White for their support and help during this difficult time. Also, we are grateful for the Hospice House of Huntington including nurses Jennifer and Lisa, who took care of Don and Phyllis both, for their compassionate care and comfort provided.
