Doris Irene Kerns (Saxton), 67, of Lucasville Ohio was called home to Heaven on June 30th, 2023.

She was born to the late Dora "Pearl" Saxton and Nolan Saxton in Greene county, Ohio, on July, 31st, 1955. In 1975, she graduated from West Union high school in West Union Ohio, where she ran track and was an astute academic.

She went on to further her studies in 2002, to graduate with honors from Southeastern Business College with a degree in Medical Administration. She was the second born of three children, the late Jimmy Saxton and a surviving younger brother, Rick Saxton of Hillsboro, Ohio.

Surviving her is her only child, a daughter, Rebecca Kerns of Jackson, Ohio, whom she shared an unbreakable bond. Also surviving her are nephews, John Saxton of Leesburg, Ohio and James Saxton of Hammersville, Ohio, many other extended family members, cherished friends and caregivers.

Doris often enjoyed encouraging others, singing praises, spreading kindness, worshipping her Lord and savior, chatting with adored friends and the simple, pure things in life.

Her ashes are to be entered in Lone Oak cemetery in Point Pleasant, WV to rest with her mother, father and brother.
In lieu of flowers, it is asked that you preform acts of kindness and compassion. Her memory is to be memorialized, at a celebration of life ceremony, at a later date.
