Dorothy M. Morrison age 87, of Point pleasant, WV passed away peacefully in her home on Monday July 4, 2022.

She was born in Oak Hill, Oh on February 3, 1935. and was the middle child of 13 children born to Ernest and Rosa (Strickland) Lahrmer. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. Jim Morrison, brothers Ernie, Foster, Arnold and Estel Lahrmer and sisters Garnet Schueb, Ruth Shaner, Thelma Naylor and Doris Ogle.

She is survived by her daughter Sue (Gary) Franklin of Lebanon OH. and son Dan (Terri Ann) Morrison of Lehigh Acres, Fl., grandchildren Emma Franklin Schulze, Bess Franklin, Grace Franklin Arenburg, Sarah and Andy Morrison, step-grandchildren Whitney, Morgan and Garrett Perdue and daughter in law Sharon Morrison.

Dorothy graduated from Holzer School of Nursing in 1959 and began her 30+ year career as an R.N. As a pastor's wife, she was the perfect helpmate to Jim in his ministry. Together they made a great team as they served charges in WV United Methodist Conference from 1963 - 1990.

Dorothy had many interests, she was a quilter and she loved quilting days with her family. She was an avid reader and was always interested in learning. She was a homebody whose perfect day was spent on the farm. She adored her family and liked to sit with a fresh cup of coffee and visit.

Dorothy was never a fan of technology and she would mail countless letters and cards to friends and family.

Mom was kind and gentle, soft spoken and humble, she gave great advice and had a sharp memory. And we will miss her everyday.

Mom enjoyed life so much but her biggest legacy will be remembered as her Christian Faith. She was and active member of Good Shepard United Methodist  Church and a member of the Friendship Circle Quilters.

Services are as follows: Visitation Friday July 8, 2022, at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home from 6 - 8, funeral service will be at Good Shepard Church in Flatrock, WV on Saturday July 9, 2022, beginning at 12 o'clock officiated by Pastor Mathew Dotson. Burial will follow in The Morrison Family Cemetery.
