Edna Mae (Rollins) Matheny, 89, of Leon, went home to be with her Lord, on October 2, 2010. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Leon Baptist Church. She was born September 29, 1921, in Middleport, OH, a daughter to the late Earl W. and Emma (Casto) Rollins. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Elva Pillow; her son, Larry W. Matheny; and three great-grandchildren, Drew Robert and Dylan Robert Morrison and Angel Matheny.

Edna is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Julius "Atmer" Matheny, of Leon; seven children, Jerry and Judy Matheny, of Reynoldsburg, OH, Charlotte and Earl Walters, of Gallipolis, Judy and Bob Locke, of Lucasville, OH, Becky and Larry Peck, of Leon, Julia and Rick Higgins, of Pt. Pleasant, Wesley Matheny and David Matheny, both of Leon; daughter-in-law, Tammy Matheny, of Leon; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and special niece and nephew, Jeannie (Pillow) Newman and Roger Pillow.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at the Leon Baptist Church, with Pastor Basil Hudson, officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, October 5, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and hour prior to the service on Wednesday, at the church.
