Edna A. (Jones) "Toots" Putney, 89, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, went home to her Lord and her husband Lester, on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at Abbyshire Place, with her family gathered around her.  She had worked in Mason County Schools, as a cook and also worked at Carolina Lumber, for Dr. Taylor and McDonalds of Gallipolis, as a greeter.  She also had attended the Faith Gospel Church, in Gallipolis Ferry.  She was born June 1, 1929, in Mason County, a daughter to the late Charles and Oda Ardella (Thornton) Jones.  in addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester "Bud" Putney, Sr. and several brothers and sisters.

Edna is survived by five daughters, Dianna and Tom Angel of Crown City, Ohio, Vickie Hanning and Jason Young of Glenwood, West Virginia, Wanda Putney and Joyce and Kenny Oliver all of Point Pleasant and Trudy and Gary Baisden of Hickory, North Carolina; two sons, Roger and Lydia Putney and Lester and Mary Putney all of Point Pleasant; eleven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way.

Edna's life will be remembered and celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, April 7, 2019, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Patterson officiating.  Burial will follow in Zion Church Cemetery (Crab Creek Road).  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  You may offer condolences to the family via this web page.
