Obituary

Edythe Mae (Plants) Rogers, 89, of Redmond Ridge, Gallipolis Ferry, went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, December 15, 2009, at Bishop Place, in Reynoldsburg, OH. Edythe was a retired postmaster for the Henderson Post Office and a member of the Henderson Church of Christ. She was active in the AARP and also the Postmasters Association.

Edythe was born on February 1, 1920, to the late Frank and Goldie (Jordan) Plants. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loraine Rogers; her son, Gilbert Rogers; grandson, Richard Thoreson; great-great grandson, Hayden Boden and also by a brother and sister.

Edythe is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John H. and Michelle Rogers, of Canal Winchester, OH; two daughters, Betty (late Jay) Thoreson, of Carson City, NV and June (late Dick) Gibbs, of Columbus, OH; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, December 19th, at the Henderson Church of Christ, with Bill Deem, Minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Rogers Cemetery, in Gallipolis Ferry. Visitation will be held at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home on Friday evening, December 18th, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. and also one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the hospice organization of your choice, in Edythe's memory.
