Elsie Anne Roush, age 87, of Point Pleasant, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at her home. Born October 20, 1929, she was the daughter of the late William H. Rardin and and Elsie Rardin Sayre. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Samuel F. Roush, Sr. and a son, Samuel F. Roush, II.

Surviving are a daughter, Amy A. Roush, of Point Pleasant and a son and daughter-in-law, Matthew B. and Beth Roush, of Owensboro, KY. Also surviving are daughter-in-law, Sharon Roush, of Beavercreek, OH and one brother and sister-in-law, William H. Jr. and Jean Rardin, of Englewood, FL.

Additional survivors include five grandchildren, Olivia A. (Roger) DeWeese, Samuel F., III (Laela) Roush, Dawan Roush, Jonathan B. Roush and Catherine Brooke Roush and great-grandchildren, John William DeWeese, Lilly Dawn DeWeese, Rosetta "Rosie" Jane DeWeese, Samuel F. Roush, IV, Weston Scott Roush and Frankie Gail Roush.

Elsie was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, of Point Pleasant. She was baptized June 28, 1931 and during her teen years taught Sunday School, President of the Youth Fellowship and a member of the church choir.

A graduate of Point Pleasant High School, she was valedictorian, class of 1947. Elsie retired from Foote Mineral Company, New Haven, in 1985 with 22 years of service.

Her hobbies included trapshooting, being Women's State Champion for six years and is in the Hall of Fame, Charleston, WV. Hunting was a family sport, teaching our sons, "safety first."

After retirement, hand quilting was her therapy. She loved making quilts and giving them to all her family.

There will be no visitation and a graveside service at Kirkland Memorial Gardens will be private. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may contribute in her memory to Trinity United Methodist Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 228, Point Pleasant, WV 25550.

Elsie's care and the care of the Roush family have been entrusted to Crow-Hussell Funeral Home.
