Erma Evelyn (Durst) Kapp, 87, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Erma was born September 28, 1928, in Leon, the daughter of the late James Wilbur and Edna Mae (Blume) Durst. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Roberta Jo (Kapp) Ludwig; brothers, James "Jim" Durst, Roy Hall, Dallas Durst and William "Bill" Durst"; sister and brother-in-law, Ora Mae and Henry Hunt; and brother-in-law, Vitus Hartley, Jr.
Erma was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School. She spent her working career as personal secretary to the president of a Columbus-based firm and later as a bookkeeper for Mercury-Keller T.V., the family business.
Erma is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert Otis Kapp; son, Martin Bruce Kapp; grandchildren, Jarrod Kapp, Bethany Kapp, Zach (Kimberly) Ludwig; sister, Ethel Hartley; brother, Albert Durst; a host of nieces and nephews and other family.
Memorial services will be held at a later date, by the family, with Pastor Bob Patterson officiating.
