Reverend Forest "Homer" Stephens age 87, of Leon, WV passed peacefully on Sept. 14, 2017 at Parkview Nursing Home, Pikeville, Ky.

He retired from Kaiser Aluminum after 30 years, and was a member of Harvey Chapel Church, Leon, WV.

Homer proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1951 - 1955.

He was born Sept.9 , 1930 to Charles Wallace Stephens and Ora Stephens Knapp, in addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Forrest :Wayne" (Caroline) Stephens, Brothers: Irvan "Farmer" (Margaret), Seth; Val; Verner (Mary Agnus); Brycle (Ann Lee); Wilbur (Cora Mae). Sisters: Rachel (Glenn) Brown; Sara Elizabeth; Nida; Crystal (Clarence) Thomas; Icyle "Sis" (Bud) Herdman; and Birdie.

Homer is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Mary and beloved daughter Ruth Ann Stephens. Grandchildren: Dylan Stephens; Maggie Stephens; Andrew Hudson; and Lindsay (Bradley) Shinn.

He was also blessed with two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home Sunday Sept. 17th from 5-7. Funeral services officiated by Rev. Sampy Hart will Be Monday Sept. 18, 2017 at Harvey Chapel Church beginning at 11:00A.M. burial with full military honors will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery on Thomas Ridge Rd.
