Fred William Gaul, Sr., age 85, of Point Pleasant, died Saturday, September 27, 2008, at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehab Center. He was a former employee of Holsum Bakery and Eastland Mall. He retired from Safe Padlock in 1988 and was also retired from Schadd Detective Agency in 2005. He was a U.S. Army veteran, an avid bowler and loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Yankees. He was a member of the St. Luke's United Church of Christ.
Born April 25, 1923, in Lancaster, PA, he was a son to the late Ross B. and Mary (Engroff) Gaul. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ross, Frank and Roy Gaul; his sisters, Mary Morris, Lillie Bell Adams and Dorothy Gaul; and special aunt, Mamie Shea.
He is survived by his sons, Fred W. Gaul, Jr. and Kevin E. Gaul (Linda Dickens); his daughter, Sharon (Bill) Sturgeon; his granddaughters, Vicki (Brian) Stephens and Kimberly Corbin; his grandsons, Fred (Maria) Gaul, III, Samuel Gaul, Kevin C. Gaul and Jason Gaul; and his great-grandchildren, Katelynn Ebert, Cameron Corbin, Gabe Corbin, Lee Gaul and Caden Gaul.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Bro. Isaiah Crump officiating. Burial will be held in Lancaster, PA.
