Obituary

Gary Wayne Davis, Sr., 69, of Leon, went to be with our Lord and Savior, on April 2020, due to an unexpected health issue. He was a security guard for Pinkerton Security Company and was self-employed with his own shop, Davis Transmission, and was an auto mechanic with A & A Transmission.  He was born December 21, 1950, in Cabell County, a son of the late Millard and Cornelia (Holly) Davis.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Earl (Hazel) Mattox; and brothers-in-law, Junior Mattox and Carl "Duke" Trippett.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannie "Jenny" Davis; sons, Christopher George Davis and Gary Davis, Jr.; daughters, Cis (Jason) Robbins, Shellie (Michael) McClaskey, Sandy (Shawn) Mattox, Stacy (Shannon) Neville; nine grandkids; two great-grandkids; brother, Rocky (Tresa) Davis; sisters, Mary (Kevin) Maynard, Polly Trippett, Brenda (Bobby) Plants; several nieces and nephews; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard L. Mattox, Carolyn (Junior) Russell and Diane (Wayne) Melton.

There will be a private graveside service for immediate family at the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Thomas Ridge Rd., Leon, WV, with Pastor and family friend, Bob Patterson officiating.  Per the directive of the CDC and state/national leaders, there will be no public services.  You may offer condolences via this webpage.  Those who are attending are encouraged to dress casually, as Gary was not one to dress up.
