George Blankenship Sr. age 81 of Leon passed away Saturday Morning August 29, 2015 at his home whith family by his side.
George was born January 18, 1934 son to the late Okey and Virginia (Camden) Blankenship.
Besides his parents George is preceded in death by his wife; Maxine Blankenship, grandchildren; Joya Wilson, Michelle Eagan, and Charles Hatfield Jr., sisters; Betty, Rachel and Joann, brothers; Johnny, David, Rodger, Terrance, and Okey Jr.
George was a hard worker working at the Chevrolet garage, and retiring as a truck driver the job he loved. He also loved telling stories of his travels over the years.
Surviving are three daughters; Toni Smith and Tina Myers both of Point Pleasant, Lana (Bobby) Thomas of Leon, one son George (Rhonda) Blankenship Jr. two sisters; Margaret of Gallipolis Ferry, and Martha of Florida, one brother, Preston of Myrtle Beach, SC.
Several nieces and nephews, six grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on the way.
Special friends Bob Moore and Lester Sea.
Services for George will be private at his request.
