George Burns McClintock, Jr., 76, of Point Pleasant, died Saturday morning,
September 4, 2010, at the Heartland of Jackson. He was retired from Kaiser Aluminum as a machinist and was a pilot for 56 years. His passion was flying airplanes and his involvement with the Mason County Airport. He was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
George was born ,April 11, 1934, in Kent, Ohio, to the late George Burns and Wilma (Pickens) McClintock. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother, David Lee McClintock.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Maxine (Viers) McClintock; his daughter and son-in-law, Sarah (Jeff) Boyce of Chillicothe, Ohio; two sons, George Burns "Sonny" McClintock, III of Jacksonville, Florida and John Robert (Susie) McClintock of Bidwell, Ohio; two brothers, Don and Nancy McClintock of Spencerville, Ohio and Ronald and Connie McClintock of Athalia, Ohio and four grandchildren; Matthew Q, Mitchell K, Bradley and Vanessa.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at the Main Street Baptist Church, Pt. Pleasant, with Rev. Don Johnson and Rev. Cory Sullivan, officiating. Burial will follow in Letart Falls Cemetery, Letart Falls, Ohio. Visitation will be held at the church from 6 until 9 p.m., Tuesday, September 7, 2010. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Point Pleasant River Museum.
