George W. Shell, age 72, of Point Pleasant, WV passed away peacefully, at his home, Friday night, January 19, 2018, with his family at his side.

George was born May 8, 1945, a son to the late William Grant and Mina (Shuler) Shell. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret Shell; and his sisters, Nancy McCallister and Barbara Robie; and two infant brothers, John and Joe Shell.

George is a lifetime resident of Mason Co. after graduating high school he started working for The Goodyear plant in Apple Grove, WV where he retired after many years of loyal service working in their maintenance department. Once he retired George found a home working as a Bus driver for the Mason County School System something he loved and cherished right up to the time he was no longer able to get out to get that bus cleaned.

George was member of The Belle Meade United Methodist Church. He loved his John Deere Tractors and being a member of The National Angus Cattle Association and was an avid Marshall Football Fan.

George is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Darrell Mitchell and Vanessa and Brian Sayre, all of Point Pleasant; grandchildren, Derek, Kayla and Cody Mitchell and Brandon and Brady Sayre; his great-grandson, Cade Musgrave; brothers-in-law, Bob McCallister and Carroll Robie; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Peggy Crawford.

Services for George will be Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with visitation from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., with the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Chip Bennett to follow at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery, in Point Pleasant.

The family would like to thank the Pleasant Valley Hospice for their wonderful care. They would also like to thank each of you who came to visit with George, whether he was in the hospital, or at his home. Donations in George's memory may be made to either the Bellemead United Methodist Church, or to the Pleasant Valley Hospice.
