Geraldine Rice 87 of Leon passed away April 10, 2023 at Holzer Senior Care.

She was a homemaker and attended Yauger Church. She was born January 31, 1936 in Leon, a daughter of the late Harry and Pearl (Herdman) DeWeese. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Lawrence Rice; two brothers Millard (Ham) DeWeese and Gerrell DeWeese (her twin); sister Iva Morrison and infant sister Lorene DeWeese.

Geraldine is survived by one son Keith Rice of Leon, four daughters Caroline Stephens of Leon, Gloria Honaker of Poca, Amy Traylor of Ellison, VA. and Ellen Rice of Leon; one granddaughter who she helped raise Tammy (Donald) Naylor of Poca, two great-grandsons Keith Naylor of Point Pleasant and Travis Naylor of Poca, and one great great grandson Jace Naylor of Poca. Two brothers Warren DeWeese of Leon and Jerone DeWeese of Columbus, OH and a sister Linda Matheny of Columbus, Oh.

She also leaves behind grand fur babies Junior, Lucy, Taz, Archie and Autumn.

There will be a graveside service for Geraldine on Thursday April 13, 2023 at 1:00 at the Yauger Cemetery in Leon.
