Gregory A. Thompson, age 55, of Point Pleasant, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at Cabell-Huntington Hospital. He had worked most of his life for the Kroger Corporation and was an avid outdoor enthusiast, enjoying time spent hunting, fishing and riding his four-wheeler. He was born November 24, 1960, in Point Pleasant, a son to the late Charles W. Thompson and Anna Jean (Walker) Thompson, of Point Pleasant. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lisa (Woods) Thompson; paternal grandparents, George and Alice Thompson; maternal grandparents, Jessie and Minnie Walker; and two nephews, Nigel Thompson and Jonathan Woods.
In addition to his mother, Greg is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Thaddeus and Triston Thompson, of Point Pleasant; daughter, Samantha Thompson, of Sierra Vista, AZ; granddaughter, Abbigail Thompson; brother, Charles W. Thompson, of Point Pleasant; nephew, Tyler and Katie Thompson, of Norfolk, VA; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend, Terry Edens and his companion, "Annie Dog".
Greg's life will be remembered at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at the Beale Chapel Cemetery, in Apple Grove. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
