Hazel Thelma (Rollins) Mattox, 79, of Leon, passed away at her home, Thursday, April 17, 2008, surrounded by her family and friends.

Hazel was the wife of the late Earl Richard Mattox of Leon. She was the daughter of the late Harvey Rollins and Serena (Liz) McDade Rollins.

In addition to her husband and parents, Hazel was preceded in death by one grandson, Junior (J.R.) Mattox; brothers, Wade, Jesse, Charles and Boyd Rollins and sisters, Esther Hook, Peggy Jordan and Bess Wilson Reinhart.

She is survived by her daughters, Jeannie (Gary) Davis, Carolyn (Jr.) Russell of Leon and Diane (Wayne) Melton of Ripley. Her sons are Richard Mattox and Junior Mattox both of Leon. Also surviving Hazel are her brothers, Delbert (Beatrice) Rollins and Epa (Cora Mae) Rollins of Letart. Her sisters are Gladys Hart and Virginia Thomas of Leon, Josephine (Roy) Fooce of Letart and Janice (Mel) Jenkins of Avon, Indiana.

Hazel is also survived by special friend and companion, Clarence Mattox.

She was the loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren; Christina, Darlene, Charlie, Rick, David, Michael, Kevin, Andrea, Robin, Misty and Christopher. She was also the great-grandmother of 16.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2008, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, with Reverend David Morgan, officiating. Burial will follow in Jack Yauger Cemetery, Leon, WV. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. before the service.
