Herbert "Donald" Henderson, 89, of Henderson entered into the presence of his Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

Don was born July 17, 1934, in Henderson, WV, son of Rose Forrest (Dickerson) and Herbert Thomas Henderson.

Don was a lifelong farmer with a true passion for his career. He was a 4-year member of the Mason Co. FFA, attended the Future Farmers National Convention. During his career, Don received the WV State Farmers Convention, American Farmer Awards, Established Farmer Award, and WV State Conversation Finalist.

Don was preceded in death by his mother, father, 2 sisters:  Anita Jo (Henderson) Dial, and Phyllis (Herman) Morgan, son-in-law Randy Rardin, and grand son-in-law Johnny (Junior) Pearson.

He is survived by his love of 67 years Dottie Jean (Hoschar) Henderson, daughter Dwila (David) Kimbrell, Ladonna (late Randy) Rardin, James "Jim" (Andrea) Henderson; 10 grandchildren: Gari (Zach) Sayre, Aren (Jeff) Dodge, Anita, (Sam) Stewart, Garrett (Alison) Hudnall, Joshua (Meredith) Rardin, Jayna Sayre, Kate (Jordan) Cunningham, Kira Henderson (Mitchell Freeman), Parker Henderson, Macy Henderson; 11 great-grandchildren: Madison Pearson (Montgomery Evans), Wes Pearson, Garin and Gabe Hudnall, Alison and Coleman Dodge, Thomas, James, and Sarah Stewart, Jace and Sadie Rardin; and 2 great, great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Dexton Evans.

Pallbearers: Garrett Hudnall, Josh Rardin, Parker Henderson, Jeff Dodge, Sam Stewart, Zach Sayre, Jordan Cunningham, Mitchell Freeman, and Wesley Pearson.

Honorary Pallbearers: Stormy See, Eddie Stanley, Jimmy Bowser, Wayne Williamson.

The family would like to extend a special thank you with deep appreciation for Stormy See: unwavering friend during times of need; Caregivers during his illness and keeping him comfortable: Amy Richards and Connie Parsons. Thank you to the Hospice of Huntington for guiding the family and Caretakers to keep him comfortable.

Services for Don will be at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home will be Tuesday March 19, 2024, from 5-8 pm and the funeral service officiated by Pastors' Robert Patterson II, Claire Bass and Kennie Bass will be on Wednesday March 20, 2024, beginning at 1:00. Burial will follow in Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant.
