Hilda M. (Cheesebrew) Goodman, 90, of Point Pleasant, WVa passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at her home in Charlottesville, Va after a brief illness.

Hilda is survived by her daughter Pamela Moser of Charlottesville, Va and her two sons, Neil Patterson and his wife Natalie of Covington, Ky, and Christopher Patterson and his wife Anna of Covington, Ky; son Tony Goodman and his wife Veena of Keswick, Va and their children Ethan, Ryan, and Simrin; son Richard Goodman and his wife Denise of Cary, NC and their children Jason and Jessica; and great grandchildren Grace and Noah Patterson. Also surviving is her brother Donald "Buddy" Cheesebrew of Point Pleasant and several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Hilda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years Paul Leo Goodman, and her siblings Katie Mayes, Anna Mayes, Clarence Cheesebrew, Bessie Morrison, Edward Cheesebrew, Howard Cheesebrew, Charles Cheesebrew, and Eva Woomer.

Hilda was born on Nov 8, 1925 in Point Pleasant, WVa, the ninth of ten children, to the late John S "Don" Cheesebrew and Viola E (Mackley) Cheesebrew. On August 11, 1949 Hilda married Paul Goodman and together they raised three children in Point Pleasant until his passing in 1997. She worked for twenty years as a cook at Ordnance School until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Red Hat Society, and Bellemeade United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant.

We have many fond memories with mom; vacationing at the beach, sharing Thanksgiving meals she lovingly prepared, playing card games with the grandchildren, just to name a few. Family was close to her heart and she always enjoyed spending time laughing with those she loved. Her spirit will live on through her children and grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the physicians and nurses of Martha Jefferson Hospital and Hospice of the Piedmont of Charlottesville, Va. A special heartfelt thanks to her caregivers Pam Daniel and Nedra "Cookie" Jackson.

Hilda's care has been entrusted to Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, 1701 Jefferson Blvd, Point Pleasant, WVa 25550. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016 from 6 until 8 pm. Services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Burial following the service will be held at Kirkland Memorial Gardens, Route 62 North, Point Pleasant, WVa.om
