Obituary

Hillis Worthington Faudree, age 85, of Point Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2011, at the Berger Health System, in Circleville, Ohio. Hillis was retired from Ohio River Towing Company, as an engineer and was a licensed merchant marine engineer. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the South Pacific and was a member of the American Legion, Mason County Post #23. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Oh-Kan Wanderers Camping Club and also the Good Sam Camping and RV Club in the American West. Hillis was also a member of Heights United Methodist Church.

Hillis was born on September 16, 1925, in Henderson, a son to the late Warren Oakley and Marguarite (Jordan) Faudree. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Elizabeth (Burdette) Faudree.

Hillis is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Chuck Moody, of Circleville; son and daughter-in-law, George Oakley and Carol Faudree, of Franklin, TN; two grandsons and their wives, David and Allison Moody, of Chicago, IL and Paul and Elizabeth Faudree, of Pickerington, OH; two great-grandchildren, Devin and Kamren; and his sister, Jean Roush, of Point Pleasant.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Rev. Nancy Hamm officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery, with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the American Legion, Mason County Post #23. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
