Howard G. Sayre, 66, of Point Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Ohio State University Medical Center, in Columbus. Howard was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad and also M & G Transport. He was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ and the Sons of the American Legion. Howard was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge #731.

Howard was born September 27, 1948, in Gallipolis, a son to the late Elmer G., Jr. and Ruth E. (Crump) Sayre. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, John Sayre.

Howard is survived by his wife Carolyn (Berkley) Sayre; daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Chad Bays, of Southside; granddaughters, Bailey and Olivia Bays; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Stanley Doss, of Henderson; sister-in-law, Debbie Sayre, of West Columbia; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce (Dan) Kupets, sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca (Jim) Grueser,nieces and nephews, Dave and Kara Wolfe, Jordan and Katie White, Angie and Murph Lathey and Mandy Grueser, Kurt, Kent and Keith Doss, Chris Sayre and Amy Kincaid; and cousin, Chester Calloway.

Howard's life will be remembered at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 5, 2015, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Bill Deem, Minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery, Henderson. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, January 4, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
