Jabez Thomas Beard, age 95, of Southside, WV passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family and friends, Monday May 2, 2016.

Jabez was born in Southside, WV., February 7, 1921 son to the late Jabez Clarence and Maggie (Dalton) Beard. He was a lifelong resident of Southside and a faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church.

Besides his parents Jabez is preceded in death by his wife; Agnes Beard and son Nicholas Grogan Beard, brothers; Gilbert and Justin Beard, sisters; Elizabeth Yauger and Dorthey Beard Seberell. Surviving is one sister; Irene Beard Brand and a grandson Adam.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Crow-Hussell Funeral Home and will be Thursday, May 5, 2016, at the funeral home, beginning at 1PM, with visitation one hour prior, starting at noon.
