On December 28, 2015, Jackie Parsons went home to be with his Lord and Savior. Jackie spent the majority of his life running a dairy and farming in this community. His life ambition was taking care of his family and working the land. When Jackie was born, God truly made a farmer, a farmer who was so honest, so full of life, so friendly, and so giving that you couldn't imagine a better man. Jackie would have given anyone the shirt off of his back, even if he didn't have it to give. He invented hard work. Anyone who knew him was a better person for it and Heaven gained a beautiful soul.

Jackie was an active member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and dedicated his life to serving his Lord.

He is survived by his wife, Icie Parsons of Apple Grove, his son Brent (Hannah) Parsons of Point Pleasant, his daughter Rachel (Andrew Rainey) Parsons of Apple Grove, grandson, Austin Lee of Apple Grove, grandson Jackson Parsons of Point Pleasant, brother Richard (Jan) Parsons of Point Pleasant, brother Rodger (Betty) Parsons, Leon, brother Darrell (Joanne) Parsons of Gallipolis Ferry, sister Connie (Mike) Brown of Point Pleasant, sister Ruth Kinnaird, sister Deloris (Bob) Swartz of Taylor, TX, lots of special cousins, nieces, nephews, and a special aunt.

Jackie was preceded in death by his parents William Leslie and Dorothy Opal Parsons of Apple Grove, WV, his granddaughter, London Emilee Parsons of Point Pleasant, WV, special uncle, Matthew Parsons of Peytona, WV, and Brother in law Eddy Kinnaird of Gallipolis Ferry, WV.

Funeral services will be held at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Beale Chapel Cemetery, in Apple Grove. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time the service on Thursday.
