James Ray
"Jack" Cheesebrew
September 18, 1949 – February 16, 2026
James "Jack" Ray Cheesebrew, 76, of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on February 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on September 18, 1949, in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, Jack was the son of John and Pearl (Martin) Cheesebrew, both of whom preceded him in death. He fought the good fight with quiet strength and steady faith, and when his time here was complete, he was called home — exactly where he wanted to be, with his family by his side.
Jack was known for his quick wit and remarkable sense of humor. He never met a stranger and had a gift for conversation. He carried an infectious spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. To know him was to love him.
Jack was a hard worker who dedicated 30 years of service to American Electric Power (AEP) before retiring in 2004. He took great pride in his work and in providing for his family, carrying that same steady commitment into every part of his life.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Donna Cheesebrew; his daughter, Lesley Hall (JJ Huffman); and his beloved granddaughter, Taylor Hall; many cherished nieces and nephews; and two special friends, James Kimberling and John Endicott of Point Pleasant.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Cheesebrew; his granddaughter, Hannah Hall; as well as five brothers and three sisters.
Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with loved ones and that his earthly struggles have been replaced with eternal peace. His love, his laughter, and the memories he gave us will be forever cherished by our family.
