Obituary

James I. "Jim" Black, age 65, of Point Pleasant, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House, in Huntington. He was retired and had worked for Yellow Cab, in Newark, OH, for several years.  He loved going to PPHS Big Blacks football games and sat on the visiting side and rout for the Big Blacks, with his boys.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, travelling, and had an unbelievable love for his grandkids and the West Virginia Mountaineers.

He was born August 17, 1955, in Huntington, a son of the late Addie and Marie (Stanley) Black.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Phyllis Robinson, Claire Shirley, Gloria Carrol, Loretta Black; and brothers, Paul, Bill, Eddie, Raymond and Jerry Black.

Jim is survived by his children, James Black, of Ripley, Billie Black (Brent Bush), of Gallipolis Ferry, Bird (Christina) Black, Betsy Taylor, and Clarence Black, all of Point Pleasant, Dolly Clouse, of Buckeye Lake, OH, and Paulleana Smith, of Columbus, OH; brother and sisters, Steve Black, Ada Macy, Wanda Wray and Bonnie Stewart; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews;  and sisters-in-law, Joy Ann Black and Brenda Black; and life-long friend, Danny Miller.

There will be a graveside service at Baylous Cemetery, in Salt Rock, WV, at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, September 3, 2020, with Pastor Bob Patterson officiating, and burial following.  Crow-Hussell Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of the Black family.  You may offer condolences by visiting:  www.crowhussellfh.com.
