James O. Langdon, 89, went to be with the Lord, on April 6, 2009, at Mercer Nursing Care Center in Bluefield, WV. He was the son of the late Charles Edgar and Dora Grouse Langdon. He was a United States Navy Veteran, a dedicated school teacher for 38 years in the Mason County School System and was a member of the First Church of God in Point Pleasant.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Aris Carder Langdon. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by an infant sister and brother, Woodrow Langdon.
He is survived by his brothers, Robert "Lee" Langdon of Milton, WV; Pearl Langdon of Mount Morris, PA; Harvey Langdon of Glenwood, WV; an adopted son, James O. Langdon of Fort Lauderdale, FL and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
They were foster parents to many foster children including: Jarvis Staats, Charles "Sonny" Watson, Kenneth "Butch" Watson, Linda Watson and Brenda Rhodes.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M., Saturday, April 11, 2009, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Pastor Carl Swisher, officiating. Burial will follow in Suncrest Cemetery, Point Pleasant. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M.
