James Edward "Jim" Roach, age 66, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 30, 2008, at St. Mary's Medical Center, in Huntington, WV. Jim was the former Street Commissioner for the City of Point Pleasant. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a United States Army veteran. Born December 22, 1941, in Plymouth West Virginia, he was a son of the late Clarence and Thelma (Walker) Roach. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Fannie L. Hall; sisters, Viola Craigo, of Lancaster, SC, and Cloretta Dyer, of Norfolk, VA.; and three nephews, Arthur Craigo, Jeffery Jahn and Gregory Jahn.

He is survived by his wife, Elsa (Sauer) Roach; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Billy Ward, of Gallipolis; son and daughter-in-law, John and Traci Roach, of Point Pleasant; grandsons, Corey and Tyler Ward and Andrew and Evan Roach; one brother and sister-in-law, George and Betty Lou Roach, of Point Pleasant; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Marvin Jahn, of Fullerton, CA, Ruth and Bill Cox, Betty and Earl Owens, Alice Lewis and Mary and Keith Bowles, all of Point Pleasant; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Bobby Greer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 615 Viand St., Point Pleasant, With Rev. Richard DeQuasie and Bro. Chad Foreman officiating. Burial will follow at Suncrest Cemetery, Point Pleasant, with Military Graveside Rites by the American Legion, Mason County Post #23. Visitation will be held at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Thursday, at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church Building Fund, 615 Viand St., Point Pleasant, WV, 25550. Jim's care has been entrusted to Crow-Hussell Funeral Home.
