James Patrick
Skidmore
December 5, 1945 – April 27, 2026
James Patrick Skidmore age 80, of Bidwell, Ohio passed away peacefully at his home on Monday April 27, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.
Jimmy was born December 5, 1945 in Springfield, Ohio one of six children to the late Warren and Mary Alice Lawless Skidmore besides his parents he is preceded in death by three siblings, Larry and Ronnie Skidmore, and Becky Skidmore (Grant) Riepenhoff.
He graduated from North Gallia High School. He found his way to The United States Air Force National Guard where he proudly served as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist reaching the rank of Seargent before receiving his honorable discharge in 1969. Jimmy remained in the Air National Guard and was stationed at Lockbourne AFB (now Rickenbacker Air base) from 1968 -1971 and was deployed to Korea for the Pueblo Incident.
After finishing his military time Jimmy worked many jobs and embarked on many adventures, he attended Hobart Welding School in Jackson, Ohio and from there held many jobs and titles, from Crown City Mining, Ironworkers Union, Boilermakers Union to his most recent stop with AEP Regional Service Org. (RSO)
He helped represent and protect his fellow workers too serving as the President of the United Mine Workers Association as well as President of H.O.G., Harley Owners Group.
Jimmy was a man of principle, he was fun loving but very serious about things that mattered to him. He was a man that if he told you he would do something it was done. He did not look for accolades or recognition but simply went about his business and got things done.
He loved and was very proud of his family. He had a love of the open road for those long therapeutic Harley rides and the 1/4 mile where he could feel the power and speed of his drag car chasing that 10 second run. To say Jimmy loved adventure would be an understatement even though his cool calm demeanor would never show it, deep down he was an adrenaline junkie. He was a tinker expert, always finding a project for his garage new or old he could always be found in his element fixing improving or just working to figure out how something operated, he just had to know.
Jimmy leaves behind his wife, Robin Skidmore, his children, Mischelle Lea Skidmore (Brian) Beeler, James Brent (Jennifer) Skidmore, grandchildren, Gabrielle Mary Alice and Arielle Eileen Beeler and Caleb Winston and Samuel Warren Skidmore. Stepchildren, Jennifer (Bill) Black and Tim (Bri) Cremeens, step grandchildren, Jordyn and Bradyn Gardner, Remee Rylan and Ryker Cremeens. Two sisters, Penny Skidmore Ratliff and Peggy Skidmore McCarley along with a host of extended family and friends that will all deeply miss him.
