James A. Whittington, 90, of Point Pleasant, left this world on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Bertha (Myers) Whittington; and sister, Phyllis A. Whittington.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Erma (Hart) Whittington; sister, Mary L. Tompkins, of Point Pleasant; brother, Lester "Trig" (Paula) Whittington, of Fairborn, OH; daughter, Sherri Jo Whittington, of Mt. Vernon, OH; son, Jim (Phaedra) Woodward, of Fredericktown, OH; step-sons, Christopher (Jodi) Matheny, of Mt. Sterling, OH and Daniel (Kim) Matheny, of Londonberry, OH; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.  He will be greatly missed by many family members and friends.

There will be a graveside service at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 24,2022, at Forest Hills Cemetery, with Pastor and longtime friend, Bob Patterson officiating.
